Support for MQ Series
This new feature provides utilities for querying MQ Series queues and browsing and editing queue contents. InSync functions of Browse, Edit, Print, Extract, and Load for MQSeries queues are provided. All available facilities are detailed in the new InSync for MQSeries manual. Please contact Macro 4 for an updated (currently free!) password to enable this feature.

General
As part of the continuing process of improving InSync’s functionality, release 5.5 adds new support for Enterprise PL/I features, as well as new options for the control of leading zeros and entering Line Commands in any position in the line command area.

There is a new facility to remember dataset names, plus associated copybooks/selection criteria, which sounds like an insignificant change but in fact represents a major usability enhancement. This was very favorably received in our sites that assisted us during the Early Availability program.

Insync for z/OS
A raft of new features has been added to the InSync for z/OS area. These include:

• Enhancements for Edit/Browse of large files
• New options to write a header containing field names on comma delimited files
• New fields for Library and Load compare
• New layout and options for Detailed Load Compare & Library member compare
• Data Privacy rule handling enhanced to allow multiple SWAPs within a field
• Enhancement to enable XML generation in batch Extract
  
  

InSync for DB2
DB2 is the repository for the vast majority of the world’s most critical data. Having the right tools to manage the data is therefore very important. InSync is already very strong in this area and in release 5.5 we continue to strengthen its appeal. The enhancements include:

• New option to write header containing column names on comma delimited files
• Inserted rows will honor defined default values, including default Null, where column data is not entered
• Explicit column selection for all columns
